Question: In a paragraph or two, discuss a product, service or ideology that you want to make it cross the chasm for this class, as part of your project? Explain why it hasn't crossed and what strategies you would recommend to make it cross? * This is meant to encourage you to begin brainstorming on your project topic.

 

 

 

 

Assignment #2: Due Wed, Feb.11 

Question: In a one pager (2-4 paragraphs), Choose something that crossed its chasm and tell me: What was the innovation? Who were the early adopters? Who was England? What was the chasm? What was the beachhead? What was France, Europe and comment on any intelligent innovation aspect. Submit your word document response into your ENGN 12 folder that was shared with you.If you did not receive an e-mail with your shared folder e-mail Cindy.

 

Phase I: Due to Writing Fellow 2/18 and Final Draft 3/4  (5-7 pages double space)

  • Background information on the product,service or ideology proposed for study(20 points) 

    • History, when it was establsihed, purpose in society 

  • What is its chasm (20 points)

    • Why is the product so great but not everyone is adopting it 

      • explain at least three barriers 

  • What are people doing instead? (20 points) 

  • Previous attempts at change? (20 points)

    • history of the innovation attempting to cross 

  • Communication Points: (20 points)

    • not a chronology: hook me 

    • headlines, text boxes, bullet points, images and reference

 

Assignment #3 Due Wed, Feb.25

Question: In a one pager (2-4 paragraphs), describe a disruptive innovation (remember it does NOT have to be a product, any innovation can be disruptive - it just needs to be “worse” in all ways but one critical element in the sense that all the innovators were working on a million features and none of those mattered compared with one key advantage of the otherwise “worse” disruptive behavior) that was disruptive.

 

Assignment#4 Due Wed, March 11

Question: In a one pager (2-4 paragraph, Describe a parallel from everyday products having apparently nothing to do with your project. Tell me what the chasm crossing issues and strategies of two seemingly dissimilar products have in common. 

 

Phase II: DUE to Writing Fellow 3/18 and Final Draft Due 4/8 by midnight (5-8 pages double space)
